Under the Spiritual Direction of His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche
and dedication of Lama Zopa Walters, Kagyu Tenjay Choling follows a schedule of Contemplation,

by visiting Lamas. Our weekly schedule of practices include Chenrezi Boddhisattva of
Compassion Puja; Green Tara Puja, Mahakala Puja and Meditation. On a lunar monthly

through our Lama for the Nungdro Preliminary Practices and we invite you to join us for
Prayer Study Contemplation, and Meditation, as the means of mastering the teachings of
our Lineage for the development of Loving Compassion and the Mind of Enlightenment.
Kagyu Tenjay Choling uses the practices known as the “Five
Golden Doctrines of the Shangpa. Kagyu Lineage”. These Five Golden Doctrines
which are the entirety of the Shangpa Kagyu teachings and are likened to a tree. The six
roots are the Six Yoga's of Niguma, the Trunk is the Meditation tradition of Mahamudra,
the Branches are the methods of carrying One's Realization of Meditation into daily
activities, the Flowers are the practice stages of Development and Completion and the
Fruit is the Completion of Wisdom. Our Lineage was founded in 1032 in the Shang Valley of
old Tibet by the Spiritual Adept and Translator Khyungpo Naljor who traveled to India many
times and received teaching from the great Buddhist Masters. The principal teachers of
Khyungpo Naljor were Niguma, Sukhasiddhi, Maitripa and Rahula. The Shangpa Lineage of
Practices comes down through a succession of transmission from Master to Disciple and
continues through the Blessings of the 2ed H.E. Kabje Kalu Rinpoche the current Head of
the Shangpa Kagyu Lineage.
